FAQ's

  • TELL ME ABOUT DVDs AND BLURAYS, AND SHOULD I HAVE A BACK-UP OF MY VIDEOS?

Yes! Yes! Yes!  You should always have a back-up!

If you are ordering DVDs or BluRays, please order a back-up copy for each original DVD/BluRay you purchase.  Our DVDs/BluRays are very high quality with a 100+ year life expectancy, but that assumes the bottom of the DVD/BluRay stays clean.  This means fingers stay off the recorded surface and the DVD/BluRay is not placed bottom side down on the coffee table.  Enough fingerprints or scratches can cause a DVD/BluRay to become unplayable.  Assuming you are going to delete the files from your camera's hard drive or memory card so that you can keep using it, your discs will be the only copy you have.  Without a backup, you could lose your memories forever!!!

  • HOW MUCH CAN I FIT ON TO ONE DVD OR BLURAY?

A DVD will hold up to one hour of digital camcorder footage.

A BluRay can hold up to two hours of high definition camcorder footage.

  • WHAT IS DELUXE PACKAGING AS COMPARED TO STANDARD PACKAGING?

Standard packaging includes the DVD with no label or titling on the outside of the disc.  (Please note that the DVD menu will include a title of your choice.)  The top of your disc will be a blank shiny silver surface.  Your disc will come in a full-size DVD case.

Deluxe packaging includes your title on the outside of the disc as well as appearing on the DVD case cover insert on the face and on the spine of the DVD case.  In addition, the case cover insert can be removed and there are lines on the back for making any notes you would like to record.

  • IS THERE A DVD MENU AND WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKE?

Yes, there is a DVD menu.  The menu contains an image of the opening frame of each clip you recorded on your camcorder.  Most viewers just select the first opening frame and watch the video through the end.  However, this does give you the option to find a particular clip anywhere on the DVD and select that clip to play.  Once you start playing the DVD by selecting any opening clip frame, the DVD will play to the end.
